South Dakota Corn Names New Executive Director

Milbank native and South Dakota State University graduate, DaNita Murray, has been chosen to lead South Dakota Corn as Executive Director. She has a law degree from Drake University which will serve her well with the litigation the ethanol industry continues to face. Plus, Murray has a strong policy background including Director of Public Policy for the National Corn Growers Association and stints on the staff of the House and Senate Ag Committees.

Murray is excited to continue South Dakota Corn’s story of success. However, with the recent controversy surrounding the group we asked how she will restore fiscal responsibility to the organization?

South Dakota Corn also self-imposed a forensic audit which is ongoing, so Murray says she is not sure when the results will be released.

Murray grew up on a South Dakota farm which her brother currently operates, which she feels will help her restore trust and confidence in the organization.

Murray will begin her leadership role on December 1.
