Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue was in South Dakota and Nebraska over the weekend stopping in Western South Dakota Friday and Cherry county Nebraska on Saturday. South Dakota Corn Growers Association President Troy Knecht along with other ag group representatives met with Perdue. He says Perdue promised to work hard for them particularly on trade agreements.
He says the South Dakota ag groups were all united in wanting to see trade improved.
Knecht says his impression is that Perdue is a straight shooter who means what he says and will follow through on his promises to help agriculture.
Knecht says he’s glad to see Perdue wanting to streamline the USDA and make it run more efficiently.
