Congressmen Dusty Johnson of South Dakota, Adrian Smith of Nebraska and Angie Craig of Minnesota are among those sponsoring the introduction of the Year Round Fuel Choice Act Legislation. South Dakota Corn Grower’s Association President Scott Stahl says he’s pleased they’ve introduced this measure calling for allowing the sale of E-15 all year long.
He says there’s no good reason to keep E-15 from being used all year despite a recent court decision disallowing ti.
Stahl says the bill has a good chance of being approved due to all the support from members of both parties in Congress for the measure.
Stahl says other benefits of E-15 include its lower in carbon and tailpipe emissions than traditional fuels and is more cost efficient for consumers. And out of 729 million bushels of corn grown in South Dakota, 424 million bushels are used in ethanol processing at the state’s 16 ethanol plants.
