While attending Dakotafest this week, South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem heard several producer concerns. She says one is the target budget cutters in Washington D.C. that have put on crop insurance.
Noem says while she’s hearing about commodity price concerns, she’s hearing about the great conditions being reported for the crops that are already in the ground.
She says another concern for farmers and ranchers is how wetlands are determined and the need for a consistent program.
Noem says the EPA’s Waters of the U.S. rule bothers producers. She says it may take a new administration before anything can be done to over turn that.
