Mexico’s Ambassador to the U.S. says the incoming Mexican President wants the North American Free Trade Agreement to be completed before he takes office December 1. Canada is also interested in completing the remake of NAFTA. South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Larry Stomprud says his group would like to see NAFTA completed soon.

He says while NAFTA is important, it’s not the major concern of cattle producers lately. Stomprud says the impacts of the Trade War is what they’re most concerned about.

Stomprud says his organization is in favor of a trade agreement, whether it be NAFTA or some type of bilateral deal such as what’s been talked about lately with the United Kingdom.

A Canadian official says they’d welcome completion of a NAFTA agreement this year.
