The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation has announced that their Fed Cattle Challenge program is now open for registration until September 30. Roxanne Knock with the Foundation says the program is designed to give students ages 14 through 18 the opportunity to really learn about the feedlot industry and take cattle all the way up to the finishing process.

She says participants in the challenge are able to see all the positives and negatives of dealing with a feedlot situation and trying to come up with a profitable result.

Knock says the top three participants will receive a cash award with first place receiving $ 1500, second place $1,000 and third place $500.

Just go to the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation website to register and the deadline for completing that is September 30th.
