Due to the COVID 19 pandemic the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation has postponed its Prime Time Gala scheduled for June 27 this year to next year. Foundation President Ryan Eichler says even though they postponed the event they made and initial donation of $150,000 to Feeding South Dakota with more donations yet to come.

Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen is grateful for the generosity of the Cattlemen’s Foundation given the economic challenges producers have been facing as a result of the pandemic.

He says the pandemic and its impacts have caused the need for their services to grow substantially from about 6600 families to over 25,000.

Gassen adds that the demand for their services will continue past the pandemic and grow even more.

Since the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation began donating to Feeding South Dakota in 2014, over the past seven years, they’ve given $1.379 million dollars to the organization. To donate, just log onto Feeding South Dakota.org..
