South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson’s PRICE Act Legislations contains several components to address the cattle market transparency needs of producers. That’s according to South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Eric Jennings says he thinks Johnson’s measure is a very positive piece of legislation.

He says having a cattle price library in the legislation is an important component of achieving market transparency by addressing the market reporting confidentiality issue.

Jennings says another important section of the Price Act would allow sales of beef across state lines through e-commerce.

Jennings says he’s also pleased Johnson’s bill calls for a feasibility study to be done for small meat packers in rural areas.
