In April, the National Cattlemen Beef Association will honor several cattle producers for their work in protecting the environment. The award is known as the Environmental Stewardship Award, and a regional winner is from South Dakota. The Jorgensen Land and Cattle Company of Ideal, South Dakota is being recognized as a regional winner, and now they will compete for the national title. NCBA president Todd Wilkinson, a cattle producer from DeSmet, South Dakota says he is proud of the Jorgensen Land and Cattle Company for its environmental awareness.
Wilkinson says the Jorgensen Land and Cattle Company are doing things the right way.
According to the Jorgensen website, they set aside 800 acres annually for wildlife habitat.
