South Dakota Business Gets National Recognition

Irish Twins Soap Company, based in Beresford, South Dakota is about as small and local as a business can get. Owner, Erin Nelson, began making soaps in her kitchen at home and now has a full line of body products and candles. Her businesses has been announced a finalist in the Martha Stewart “American Made” Contest that spotlights local, craft businesses.

The grand prize for the contest is a trip to New York for the American Made Workshop, a chance to be featured on the Martha Stewart website, and ten thousand dollars. Nelson says winning would keep her in business.

The winners of the contest will be announced later this month.
