The South Dakota State Brand Board is operating in the black following a fee increase that went into effect two years ago. Brand Board Executive Director Debbie Trapp says their brand Inspection fee is a dollar per head while expenses are running a little less than that.
Trapp reminds producers that the brand registration program covers the whole state. She says the board is currently working on renewing owner’s brands.
