The South Dakota Board of Regents continues to look for a funding formula that will take care of new buildings going up at all of the state’s universities.
The Maintenance & Repair or M&R funding was on the agenda last week at the Regents meeting in Vermillion.
Board President Bob Sutton says they are looking at how that is handled in other states……
Funds paid by students, called Higher Education Facilities Fees, have been used for some of the M&R costs. Sutton says those may not be enough to cover all the new buildings……
Sutton says they may have a plan in place by late this fall…..
New projects are underway, or approved at USD, SDSU, Northern State, Dakota State, and the School of Mines.
