South Dakota Board of Education Changes High School Graduation Requirements

The South Dakota Board of Educational Standards met in Pierre to consider changes in high school graduation requirements.

The proposal calls for three graduation tracks, Advanced, Advanced Career, and Advanced Honors.

Laura Scheibe, CTE Director for the Department of Education, says they had a broad group come up with the different tracks……

Scheibe says it is not a total replacement of the current graduation standards…..

Scheibe says the new tracks will give students more post high school options……

The board approved the changes unanimously.
