The United States Supreme Court has denied the appeal of seven same sex marriage decisions. South Dakota Attorney General, Marty Jackley, was one of 19 State Attorneys General who sent a request to the Supreme Court to determine if states were required to adopt and recognize same sex marriage.
For now, he says, the South Dakota District Court is hearing the case to uphold or dismiss that amendment.
Jackley says having each state take the decision through their district appeals courts is less effective than having the Supreme Court make a decision.
