South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley who chairs the National Attorney General’s Association has joined 18 of his colleagues in writing EPA asking them to withdraw their proposed Greenhouse Gas rule. He says there are many problems with their current proposal.
Jackley says the way EPA is moving ahead with their proposal is wrong and that they need to go back to Congress before moving forward with a rule outlining standards of performance for greenhouse emissions from new stationary sources and new fossil fuel fired generating plants.
Jackley says if EPA’s proposal is adopted it will stifle economic development, increase energy prices for consumers and hurt the agriculture and overall economies of the states.
Jackley says if EPA fails to respond to his group’s concerns that their next step will be to take the issue to court.
