South Dakota State Ag Secretary Lucas Lentsch will be attending the RFS hearing this week in Des Moines on Thursday. He’ll be joining Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey in speaking for the RFS and against the volume reduction proposal brought forward by EPA.  Lentsch says a strong RFS is necessary in keeping the U.S. free of foreign oil dependence.

Lentsch says the RFS is critical to the nation’s entire economy and not just agriculture.

He says in order to understand the importance of energy independence see how veterans feel about it.

The deadline for individuals and groups to comment on the EPA RFS proposal is January 28 with the RFS hearing in Des Moines set for Thursday January 23.
