South Dakota State Agriculture Secretary Lucas Lentsch has named Stacy Revels as his new policy advisor. Revels who’s first day on the job was Monday says a big part of her job will be to give national and state policy advice and help get those decisions implemented.
Revels who just graduated from the University of Alabama’s school of law gained valuable ag experience through a pair of internships.
She says during that House Ag Committee internship the group worked on writing the new farm bill. Revels says because she’s so committed to agriculture and because it is so important to South Dakota economy that convinced her to take the job as policy advisor.
Revels also has experience in ag education and worked with education and certification programs for three years with the National Pork Board and was a high school ag teacher in Florida.
