Nebraska farmers are reporting some better than expected soybean yields. That’s despite excessive moisture and flooding in the western corn belt which resulted in late planting and delayed harvest and less than desirable results for farmers in other areas. Nebraska Soybean Growers Association President Robert Johnston says in his area of northern Antelope county near Clearwater, harvest has progressed well with decent results.
He says their soybean yields are not bin busting, but have been better than expected.
Johnston says the way harvest has gone and the results they’ve seen have been above what many producers have experienced this year.
Johnston says he has less than 600 acres left to harvest.
