The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its top soccer players of the week in both men’s and women’s action.

Men’s Offense – Prichard Sibanda, Briar Cliff University (Forward)

Prichard Sibanda of Briar Cliff is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Sibanda, a senior, from Liverpool, England, set the school record for goals in a game with six in the Chargers first game of the season, a 12-0 victory over Presentation. He also added an assist to give him 13 points for the contest.

Men’s Defense – Joe White, Hastings College (Goalkeeper)

Joe White of Hastings College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. White, a senior, from London, England, helped the Broncos open up its national title defense with a 2-0 victory over Waldorf. White recorded three saves and picked up a clean sheet. This was his 12th shutout of his career at Hastings.

Women’s Offense – Maria Deeter, Concordia University (Midfielder)

Maria Deeter of Concordia is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Deeter, a junior, from Seward, Nebraska, powered Concordia to a 5-1 season opening win over Avila (Mo.) by recording the first hat trick of her career. Deeter also assisted on another goal for the defending GPAC tournament champions. A first team All-GPAC choice in 2016, she has recorded 16 career goals.

Women’s Defense – Justice Ross, College of Saint Mary (Goalkeeper)

Justice Ross of College of Saint Mary is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Ross, a senior, from Gretna, Nebraska, recorded two saves and posted a shutout Saturday vs. Sterling College. Ross, a standout basketball player for the Flames, returned to the pitch for the first time since high school and has started all three games and given up only two goals (including a game vs. ranked Robert Morris).
