Farmers in Central Minnesota had less-than-pleasant surprise when winter arrived early, dumping several inches of snow in many areas. University of Minnesota Extension educator Dan Martens says harvest has come to a halt:

 

Single-digit temperatures in the forecast will reduce chances for combines getting out in the fields. Martens says while the snow does make things a challenge, farmers are not hitting the panic button just yet.
