With the snow we have received over the winter months, has it been enough to re-charge the moisture levels in the subsoils?  A South Dakota State University agronomist says the snow has helped a little, but more precipitation is needed before spring fieldwork begins.

That is Peter Kovacs.  He says there is still quite a bit of ground that remains frozen, especially in northern South Dakota, along with a snow cover that has not melted yet.
