Iowa Congressman Randy Feenstra along with Minnesota Representative Angie Craig have introduced the Small Refinery Exemption Clarification Act of 2021. Feenstra says it’s in response to the recent Supreme Court Decision regarding small refiner waivers and makes those seeking SRES obey the Renewable Fuel Standard as Congress intended.

He says they’ll be making a concerted push to get the bill approved and are hoping to get the Administration to come on board with this legislation.

Feenstra says both sides of the aisle are supportive for this move backing renewable fuels.

Feenstra says it’s critical that oil refineries are not able to take shortcuts when it comes to blending biofuels and the SRE Clarification Act should help prevent those shortcuts.
