Sioux Falls will continue to host the Summit League men’s and women’s basketball championships through 2022.

South Dakota’s largest city has hosted the tournament since 2009, and the annual event has drawn record crowds. The 2015 championships marked the tournament’s first move from the old arena to the Denny Sanford Premier Center, and 11 of the games set all-time men’s and women’s attendance records. The total attendance topped 60,000.

The success has prompted the league and the Sioux Falls Sports Authority to exercise the five-year option of their agreement.

This season’s tournaments begin on March 5.
