Cattle producers and Sioux Falls area consumers shared a beef meal and a conversation about farming at last night’s Beef Crawl in Sioux Falls. The event is coordinated by Ag United and President Richard Vasgaard says the progressive beef dinner is a chance for the public to ask local farmers questions about agriculture and food production.
Adam Mohrhauser farms northwest of Sioux Falls and was one of the cattle producers that participated in the Beef Crawl. He was asked various question about his operation, antibiotic and hormone use and what cattle are fed. He hopes his answers assure consumers about the safety of their food and the care he takes to produce it.
Mohrhauser also sat with Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether and had a chance to talk to him about the environmental practices he employs on his farm.
He says the Beef Crawl is a great opportunity to put a face on farming for the public. The progressive dinner included restaurant stops at Crawford’s, Bros and Half Baked.
