A protest over abortion rights in Sioux Falls last night (Wednesday) turned into a confrontation with police.

Police Chief Jon Thum says they didn’t have a lot of information on the intentions of the protestors…..

Thum says they tried to funnel the protestors back to the park…..

Thum says that’s when the protest was declared an unlawful gathering……

Thum says “a couple of arrests were made.” He says one of their concerns was getting people off the streets to avoid any confrontations with vehicles driven into the crowd.
