South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem issued two executive orders dealing with the trans gender, fairness in women’s sports issues after her veto of HB1217 failed during the last day of the 2021 legislative session. She then has said she will call legislators back to Pierre in May or June to deal with that issue and medical marijuana.
Senator Art Rusch of Vermillion says there are a number of issues sidestepping the legislature…..(NEWS16)(the laws)(:14)

Rusch says he doesn’t see enough changing on the trans gender issue to bring it back in a special session……(NEWS17)(in that)(:17)

Rusch says outside pressure may have changed the Governors approach to the issue……(NEWS18)(Dakota)(:24)

Rusch, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was not happy when the trans gender bill, which was killed in that committee, was smoked out to the Senate floor, and passed.
