The Fourth Annual South Dakota Showdown series presented by South Dakota Corn is now complete. South Dakota Corn Growers Marketing and legislative Director Teddi Mueller says the money raised to help Feeding South Dakota was an increase of $44,000 from last year’s event.

SDSU won this year’s series over the University of South Dakota by a score of 16 to 11. Mueller says while the competition is fun, what’s really important is how everyone came together to help the less fortunate.

Mueller says when they started the event four years ago, everyone, the two Universities and South Dakota Corn were all committed to helping feed the hungry and assisting Feeding South Dakota.

Feeding South Dakota is the state’s hunger relief organization fighting to eliminate hunger in the state. The group provides temporary food assistance to 21,000 hungry South Dakota families and individuals each week.
