Despite the chilly start to May, weather watchers know it is just a matter of time before severe weather season ramps up.
Todd Heitkamp of the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says the long range outlooks are tilting toward more storm possibilities…..

Heitkamp says while much of the severe weather has been in the south, we can still see significant outbreaks in the northern plains….

The six to ten-day forecast calls for above, too much above normal temperatures over much of the region.
