Seven Midwest Governors including Iowa’s Terry Branstad and South Dakota’s Dennis Daugaard have written to the EPA administrator asking her to remove a barrier to E 15. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw says if that vapor treatment barrier were lifted, then E 15 could be offered year round to vehicles 2001 and newer.
He says if the barrier were fixed then both E 15 and E 10 would be treated the same way.
Shaw says getting rid of the vapor pressure treatment regulation would led to more E 15 being offered which is what consumers want.
Other Midwest state Governor’s signing onto the letter include Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas.
