The City of Freeman has approved the sale of a full-square block of city property to the Salem Mennonite Home, which operates an assisted living facility there. The home’s administrator, Shirley Knodel says there’s many benefits to retiring in Freeman….

Knodel says the complex will provide an array of housing and services for seniors focused on independent living….

Earlier this week, the Freeman City Council approved the bid of twenty-eight thousand dollars for the property, which was ninety percent of its appraised value. Knodel says the project will hopefully get started sometime in 2018.
