Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley along with Minnesota Senator Al Franken are reintroducing legislation to help farmers going through bankruptcy. Grassley says he originally put the bill in 12 years ago.

He says their legislation will assist farmers in reorganizing their debt.

Grassley says their bill will be up before the Senate Judiciary Committee which he chairs.

Grassley says it’s critical producers have this protection at a time when the farm economy is on a downswing.
