Senators Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota have introduced the Assisting Broadband Connectivity Act legislation. Grassley says the measure makes changes to USDA rural broadband programs and remove un-needed barriers to connectivity in rural areas.

He says the bill will gives states flexibility to use various funding sources to advance broadband connections.

Grassley says his legislation will make sure broadband gets out to underserved rural areas and cuts through red tape to get that accomplished.

Grassley says the issue of broadband has come out in almost all of his meetings across Iowa this year where he’s been in 85 of the state’s 99 counties.
