Senators Deb Fischer of Nebraska and Joni Ernst of Iowa have introduced a resolution to get rid of the Waters of the U.S. Rule or WOTUS. Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Troy Stowater thanked them for introducing the measure because had WOTUS gone forward it would have stripped producers of their private property rights.

Iowa Cattlemen’s Association President Mike Cline says the WOTUS regulation not only went too far, it also was not written very well.

Stowater is hoping Congress will eliminate WOTUS so it doesn’t have to go through the courts which would be an expensive remedy.

WOTUS is currently on hold in the courts pending further action.
