A bi-partisan group of Senators led by Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Rick Scott of Illinois has introduced the Country of Origin Labeling Online Act in the Senate. The Coalition for a Prosperous America backs the bill. CPA CEO Michael Stumo says on line sales are outpacing any other sales and consumers are clamoring for USA made goods.

He thinks this Online legislation could lead to eventual passage of mandatory COOL for pork and beef.

Stumo says the chances of getting the online mandatory cool measure over the finish line is pretty good.

Stumo says websites often do not display the country of origin of a product since labeling laws were written before the advent of internet shopping.
