Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa along with three other Senate Colleagues will introduce this week their Cattle Market Price Discovery and Transportation Act. He says the measure is response to the current market system where producers can’t get a fair price or bid for their animals.
He says meat packer groups are opposing the Cattle Market Price Discovery and Transparency Act so He’ll be speaking about the need for this bipartisan bill.
Grassley expects a clear and tough fight in order to get this legislation passed.
Grassley says while he’s talked to his fellow Senators about the legislation and asking for their support he also intends to talk with Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack and the chairman of the House Ag Committee about the legislation
