Senators are considering legislation to lessen financial restrictions on Cuba in an effort to enhance trade. National Association of Wheat Grower’s CEO Chandler Goule says it’s important this piece of legislation gets approved so trade can flow freely between the U.S. and Cuba.
He says the trade embargo also needs to be lifted. He says there’s still some Congressional opposition to lifting the embargo and trading with Cuba but he’s hopeful that can be overcome.
Goule says if trade restrictions are lifted, Cuba will be a great market for U.S. wheat.
Goule says he’s traveled to Cuba many times and knows their consumers want U.S. goods.
