Senators Ask President Trump To Re Engage In TPP

The United States may be interested in rejoining discussions to have the U.S. engage in the Trans Pacific Partnership. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says that’s based on comments Trump made last week at a World forum.

He says the TPP now involves a free trade agreement made up of 11 nations. Grassley says he and his fellow Senators that signed onto the letter believe the U.S. could benefit greatly from joining those 11 countries.

Grassley says TPP would also be helpful for Iowa’s farmers and ranchers.

The U.S. pulled out of the TPP discussions following Trump’s election but based on recent comments, he may have changed his mind about the deal.
