Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says a short term highway bill needs to be approved before August First. He says following that, a long term solution is needed that would fund $ 90 billion dollars worth of infrastructure in a six year measure. He says that could be done during the lame duck session or early next year.

Grassley says if it were up to him, he’d give state’s more say over how they spend highway bill funding.

Grassley expects the short term fix to be either the legislation that came out of the Senate Finance Committee or the full measure out of the House.
