With online sales at a record pace this year, Papillion Nebraska State Senator Jim Smith says slapping a state sales tax on cyber buying remains an important issue.
Smith says the Legislature is looking at a bill, LB44, that is intended to trigger a court challenge that only businesses with brick and mortar stores located in the state can charge sales tax on online orders.
Smith says Nebraska is losing out on about $60 million in tax revenue due to online sales.
