Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse notes he has been a critic of the Republican Party ever since elected to the United States Senate as a Republican.

So, the senator claims the stir a recent national media interview made surprised him. Sasse said he thinks about leaving the Republican Party every morning.

Sasse avoids answering whether he is considering leaving the Republican Party. He does say he is committed to its reform.

Sasse says both political parties have only short-term visions. He says he wants the Republican Party to consider where the country should be going in 10 years.
