State Senator Merv Riepe of Millard (Nebraska) plans to introduce a bill in the upcoming Legislative session that would enable direct contracting for primary health care in the state. Riepe says Direct Primary Care would allow patients to pay a monthly fee similar to a utility bill.

Riepe says his bill would not try to regulate this type of health care but try to cement in an opportunity for physicians to proceed without fear of being punished.

Riepe says the fee-for-service care in Nebraska is not working and a creative solution is needed that is affordable.
