Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer talked to agricultural organizations around the state who are pleased with the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement that is slated to replace NAFTA. Fischer says more work needs to be done to help Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers.
Fischer says the new deal will especially benefit dairy and wheat producers. However, the work on the agricultural front isn’t done yet. She says Congress still has a farm bill to tackle
The new USMCA agreement will still need to be ratified by all three governments. In the U.S., midterm elections could throw a stick in the spoke if Democrats take control of the House or Senate.
