U-S Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa joined her colleagues in support of the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act.  Ernst, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, continues to be a strong advocate for homegrown, Iowa ethanol as an option for families to relieve pain at the pump and support Iowa corn growers.

Ernst says, “E-15 is a cleaner, cheaper choice at the pump for our customers.  Our bipartisan effort will ensure E-15 is available year-round and bring much -needed certainty to our Iowa farmers, consumers, and retailers.”

The bipartisan legislation would provide a permanent, nationwide solution for fuel blends containing ten percent or more ethanol to allow for the year-round sale of E-15.  The bipartisan, commonsense approach would bring certainty to the industry and consumers.

In November 2022, Senator Ernst joined a bipartisan group of Midwest senators on the push to expand the year-round sales of E-15 nationwide.  In February 2023, Senator Ernst, and the entire Iowa delegation, demanded the EPA remove regulatory barriers for gasoline-ethanol blends-like E-15 and implement the long-awaited request of Midwest governors, including Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.
