Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley along with 5 American agricultural groups told Japan that they must drop all tariffs in order for a successful conclusion to the Trans Pacific Partnership talks.  National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Bob McCann says even though Japan is our top beef customer, they need to drop their tariffs like the other 11 nations in the TPP.

McCann says his group will back the TPP deal with Japan’s inclusion only if they come to the table and drop their protectionist demands on ag products by reducing their tariffs to zero.

Senator Grassley along with 16 other Senate colleagues have written the USTR asking him to hold Japan’s feet to the fire on the TPP negotiations..
