Senate Republicans Tell EPA to Stop WOTUS Rulemaking With SCOTUS Case Pending

A growing number of farm groups and lawmakers are asking the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers to suspend the Waters of the U.S. rulemaking process.  South Dakota Senator John Thune spoke on the Senate floor yesterday once again making the case that the agencies should stop the rewrite with the impending Supreme Court hearing on WOTUS.

He says it makes no sense to rewrite the rule until the high court has made its decision and hopefully provided a commonsense definition of waters of the United States.

Thune says the attempt to redo WOTUS is nothing more than an attempt for the Biden Administration to over regulate agriculture.

The Supreme Court is expected to hear the WOTUS case this spring.
