Senate Passes Six Year Transportation Bill Extension

The US Senate passed a six year extension of transportation funding, but there is no guarantee the House will go along.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says the House is working on a different but similar proposal.

The House left for their August recess earlier this week after passing another three month extension of the funding bill.

Rounds says the transportation bill has to fit in the overall spending plan. He says the Senate has a number of budget bills ready for debate.

Rounds says there is a difference of opinion between democrats and republicans on the overall spending targets.

Rounds says the Senate will be in session next week before taking their August break.
