Senate Finance Committee leader Chuck Grassley says trade appears to be at the bottom of the list for immediate priorities for the Biden Administration. He says that’s because the President is approaching trade much different than past administrations particularly with China.

He expects the Biden administration to move forward with the WTO and is hoping he won’t let up on bilateral discussions particularly with the United Kingdom.

Grassley says the confirmation hearing for Katherine Ty as U.S. Trade Representative hasn’t yet been scheduled but he intends to ask her what trade direction she intends to take with China.

Grassley says Biden’s priorities so far has been with nominees to lead the Agriculture Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.
