Senate Finance Chairman Expects Trade Deal With Japan Soon

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa predicts a U.S. Japan trade deal soon., even ahead of the U.S. Mexico, Canada agreement. He says talks with the Japanese have been going well and an agreement could come within two months.

Grassley was asked if the Japanese deal would precede House and Senate action on USMCA.

Trade Promotion authority allows the President to negotiate trade pacts with only an up or down vote by Congress.
