Wednesday, the U.S. Senate approved a resolution to withdraw the EPA and Army Corps Waters of the U.S. rule by a 53 to 44 vote. Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse says he thinks this is the beginning of the end for WOTUS.
Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer says despite a possible veto of the resolution of disapproval by the President, she’ll continue fighting to make sure the Clean Water Rule does not go forward.
Congressman Adrian Smith says WOTUS needs to be stopped because of its cost to all aspects of the economy. He adds it’s a blatant abuse of federal powers.
The joint resolution must now be passed by the House but faces a veto by the President.
Many farm groups including NCBA are praising the bi-partisan support in the Senate in approving the resolution to get rid of WOTUS.
