Senator Bill Kintner of Papillion has resigned from the Nebraska Legislature, bowing to mounting pressure within the body to step down.
Kintner came under harsh criticism last year when he confessed to using a state-owned laptop computer to engage in cybersex during a business trip. Kintner thanked his supporters during a news conference at the Capitol
Criticism of his conduct grew this week after he retweeted a Tweet that mocked participants in the Women’s March in Washington
If Kintner had not resigned, the Unicameral was prepared to debate a resolution to expel him. Sponsors said they had the votes need to pass it.
